Sora Marine Services expands fleet with 24-passenger aluminium-hulled newbuild
Middle East marine logistics company Sora Marine Services has taken delivery of a new 24-passenger crewboat, Sora 22, for service in Qatar.
Built by Lita Ocean in Singapore, Sora 22 has an overall length of 23.5 m, beam of 2.6 m and breadth of 6.2 m, and will operate in Qatar’s offshore energy sector carrying personnel and cargo to offshore platforms.
Designed by Jenjosh Marine Design and built to Bureau Veritas rules, the aluminium-hulled vessel can reach a maximum speed of 18 knots and has a cruising speed of 16 knots. Two Yanmar 6AYM-WET(M) four-stroke diesel engines each generate 610 kW at 1,900 rpm, driving two conventional screw propellers via marine gearing.
