Horizon Maritime in Canada recently held a naming ceremony for the subsea vessel Horizon Star which, it has emerged, it has acquired from Kleven Verft in Norway.
As previously reported by OSJ, Kleven recently confirmed that it had sold an unidentified vessel that had been at the yard since it was launched nearly two years ago. The vessel, described only as yard number 379, was sold to what the Norwegian shipbuilder described only as “an unspecified international player.”
The vessel was the former IES Energy, which was ordered by IES Pioneer Ltd and launched in 2015. It is of Marin Teknikk MT 6015 design and has a 3,000 m-rated offshore crane, moonpool, accommodation for 60 people, an emergency towing winch and firefighting capability.
The newly-acquired unit was named on 3 August in Norway and has now arrived in Newfoundland & Labrador. It will go to work immediately in the waters east of the province.
