The US-based marine services and ship towage group has acquired a business to expand its harbour activities in the Pacific Northwest
Growing maritime and logistics group Crowley has purchased Seattle-headquartered vessel mooring service provider Main Line Inc to expand the services it provides to ships calling at the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, in Washington state.
These services will be provided alongside Crowley’s existing ship towage and docking services in ports along the Pacific coast.
“For decades, our customers have put their trust in Crowley to ensure their vessels arrive and depart ports safety and reliably,” said Crowley Shipping senior vice president and general manager James Fowler. “The addition of vessel mooring to our harbour services product offering ensures the highest levels of co-ordination between the critical services of vessel mooring and ship assist,” he said. “As a result, Crowley customers can have even more confidence their vessels will be docked and sailed without delay or incident.”
Crowley operates advanced, environmentally friendly tugboats, combining high bollard pull and clean emissions to support timely harbour operations.
Main Line’s staff members and assets are transitioning to Crowley as part of the asset acquisition agreement.
