DFDS takes over Norfolkline

DFDS has confirmed that it has received the regulatory green light from Brussels for its acquisition of Norfolkline from the AP Moller-Maersk group. Moreover it has revealed that the Norfolkline name will effectively disappear to be replaced by “one strong brand” – “DFDS”. “DFDS Seaways” will be used for the enlarged company’s shipping operations while “DFDS Logistics” will cover other areas related to inland transport.

The amalgamation of DFDS and Norfolkline is now underway and the main part of the integration plan should be completed by the end of 2011, DFDS says. PST
