High Speed Transfers to acquire three hybrid CTVs

The CTVs are of Damen’s Fast Crew Supplier 2710 Hybrid (FCS 2710 Hybrid) design and will be fitted with 190-kW battery arrays that will enable them to operate in emissions-free mode in harbour and when loitering offshore. They will also be IMO Tier 3 compliant.

In zero-emission mode, the vessels will be able to work in power take-in mode, propelled by an electric motor connected via the gearbox to the propeller shaft. When in diesel-mode, the electrical motors will be able to work in reverse for power take-in and can be used to charge the batteries and provide the hotel load for the vessel.

The FCS 2710 Hybrids are already in build at Damen Shipyards Antalya in Turkey. Delivery of all three vessels will take place in early 2024.

Once operational, the FCS 2710s will receive ongoing support and maintenance services from Damen’s service hub located at Portsmouth on the UK’s south coast. In order to meet market demand, Damen is also investing in construction of more stock vessels at Antalya and Damen Song Cam shipyard in Vietnam.
