LNG Guardian ready for FSRU Toscana service

Astilleros Gondan of Figueras in Spain has delivered the offshore support and standby vessel LNG Guardian to Fratelli Neri SpA of Livorno. The vessel will be used to assist operations at OLT Offshore LNG Toscana SpA’s offshore LNG import terminal, due to be commissioned off the Italian coast later this year. The terminal is based on the use of the floating storage and regasification unit FSRU Toscana, a converted LNG carrier.

LNG Guardian was designed by Cintranaval-Defcar while the detailed engineering was carried out by Gondán Ingeniería. The vessel has been provided with a full feathering propulsion system, drag reduction features and the ability to assist the FSRU in a safe manner in the event of a gas leak. LNG
