Sperry Marine will supply Novorossiysk Shipping Co (Novoship) with integrated bridge systems (IBS) for 10 new tankers being built in Korea and China.
Each ship is being fitted with a complete navigation suite that includes radars, electronic chart display and information system, digital adaptive autopilot, steering controls, gyrocompasses, VDR, AIS and other associated sensors and systems.
In a separate US$1.5 million contract, the company is to supply high-accuracy inertial navigation systems for four new 94m-long ‘maritime action ships’ being built for the Spanish navy at the Navantia shipyard in Ferrol, northwest Spain.
Each will be fitted with one MK 39 Mod 3A ring laser gyro (RLG) inertial navigation system and one MK 27 fibre-optic gyrocompass. The MK 39 Mod 3A will provide both high-accuracy geographic positioning information also precise attitude and heading data for the ships’ navigation and weapon systems. MEC
