UltraNav installs Buzz communicators on tug and inshore fleet

UltraNav has installed mobile broadband communications on a fleet of inshore vessels, tugs and pilot vessels. It has installed HubbaX 4 Duo mobile communication units on more than 40 vessels operated by UltraNav and UltraTug in Chile. UK-based Buzz Marine received the order from Humboldt Ship Management in Santiago, Chile.

HubbaX 4 Duo enables crew to communicate with shore over coastal 3G and 4G mobile networks with a range of up to 20 nautical miles offshore. It can be used as an alternative to satellite communications for broadband connections. It offers multi frequency options to allow use in various global regions and across national boundaries. It has a multi-directional Mimo high gain antenna to optimise the reception of 3G and 4G networks from the vessels.
