Uptime International was awarded a contract by Eiffage Génie Civil Marine to provide access solutions for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project offshore Senegal and Mauritania
Uptime’s scope of work includes engineering, designing and supplying access solutions between the LNG Hub Terminal and the FLNG vessel. It will supply two large motion-compensated gangways, pedestals and stair-towers.
Uptime chief executive Åge Højmark said “With this contract we have a solid orderbook and base workload for 2020 which provides a strong foundation for further growth.” Uptime provides gangways for the offshore oil and gas sector and has provided solutions for the offshore wind market since 2011.
BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim is one of Africa’s deepest LNG projects at 2000 m below the sea’s surface. Phase one of the project is expected to produce up to 2.5 mta of LNG rising to 10 mta.
Uptime’s project will commence immediately with a project duration of approximately 12 months.
Eiffage Génie Civil Marine began work in the Greater Tortue quarry located at Hajar Dehken, Mauritania on 22 January 2020, with the first ship leaving the port of Dakar on 24 January to assist in a seabed reconnaissance campaign.
