Petrobras secures anchor-handling, subsea support from Solstad

Petrobras has selected three offshore support vessels owned by Solstad Offshore to support its offshore hydrocarbon drilling and subsea construction work over the rest of this decade.

The Brazilian state-run energy group will charter two large anchor-handling tug, supply vessels and a construction support vessel (CSV) from the Skudeneshavn, Norway-headquartered owner for four years each.

Solstad did not name the two AHTS vessels included in these contracts, but did say the contracts would involve Solstad Maritime ships and commence in Q1 2026, and that one includes subsea services involving a remotely operated vehicle.

In another contract, Petrobras will charter 2002-built CSV Normand Flower for four years, starting in December 2025. This 93-m vessel was built to a UT 737 design with a beam of 22 m, a 150-tonne knuckle crane, accommodation for 86 workers and 960 m² of deck space.

Solstad Offshore holds 27% of the shares in Solstad Maritime.
