Offshore vessel designer HAV Design appoints new managing director

Mr Schofield has more than 20 years of experience in industry and the marine sector, internationally and in the Sunnmøre region of Norway. He previously held senior positions at, among other companies, Ulstein Design & Solutions, Vard Electro and Optimar.

Mr Schofield began his career in the UK defence industry at BAE Systems, where he was responsible for complex development and delivery projects.

HAV Design is best known as a designer of vessels for the offshore oil and gas and offshore wind industries, such as Esvagt’s new HAV 833 design, which is being built at Cemre Shipyard in Turkey, that was developed in close collaboration with the shipowner. The vessel has been nominated for the Offshore Energy Vessel of the Year award at the 2026 Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference, Awards & Exhibition.
