Adani Group’s Astro Offshore continues to aggressively expand fleet with en bloc acquisition of five OSVs
Following the addition of two platforms supply vessels (PSVs) earlier in September, Astro Offshore has continued to expand its footprint in West Africa, acquiring another five OSVs. The latest deal includes one multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV) and four PSVs. No purchase details on the acquisition were disclosed.
Based in Dubai and Singapore, the offshore support vessel arm of the Adani Group reported the expansion in a social media post. Among the vessels in the en bloc acquisition is Astro Antares, a 2018-built 86-m DP-2-class MPSV. The 4,912-dwt, diesel-electric vessel has accommodation for 90 and a 160-tonne offshore crane.
In addition, the recently added PSVs are two 79-m, diesel-electric, DP-2-class vessels, Astro Rosette (built in 2018) and Astro Roseland (built in 2014), and two 80-m, diesel-electric, DP-2-class vessels, Astro Rasalas (built in 2014) and Astro Rubin (built in 2014).
These latest additions follow the acquisition of the 78-m DP-2-class diesel-electric PSVs Astro Rastaban (ex AM Prosperity, built 2023) and Astro Rigel (ex AM Paradise, built 2020) in early September, growing Astro Offshore’s fleet to 49 vessels, including MPSVs, AHTSs, PSVs and ballastable barges.
No details were disclosed on the purchase price of the vessels but AM Paradise has a reported market value of US$25M and AM Prosperity, US$28M, according to Veson Nautical’s VesselsValue. Both vessels are under ABS class and fly the Marshall Islands flag, but 3,979-dwt AM Paradise is due for its next renewal survey on 28 October 2025, according to Equasis.
