Regal Rexnord power transmission expert Bob Lennon shares his insights on best practices for MRO of your vessel’s drivetrain components
Most owners have best practices in place for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of their vessel’s engines during drydocking to minimise downtime. A vessel not working, is a vessel not earning. But that same level of care and best practices are not always in place for drivetrain components. Basic standards of vessel maintenance vary widely from operator to operator.
“Everyone wants their asset running as many hours as they can because that’s how they make their money. But I see a lack of consistency on how some of this equipment is maintained,” says Regal Rexnord’s Bob Lennon, a power transmission expert who oversees the company’s marine coupling program.
In this podcast, Mr Lennon shares his insights on best practices for MRO of your vessel’s drivetrain components, ensuring a smoother drydocking process, keeping it working…and earning.
With more than 40 years in the power transmission business, Mr Lennon is an engineer that has spent most of his career working in sales management, coupling engineering and applications at Centa. Centa is part of Regal Rexnord, a global leader in the design and manufacture of power transmission solutions for marine drivetrains and deck machinery.
