AIDA Cruises signs contract for two new ships

Fincantieri has signed an agreement with Carnival Corp for the design and construction of two new cruise ships for AIDA Cruises, the leading brand in the German-speaking cruise market.

This agreement marks the first time Fincantieri will build ships for AIDA Cruises, further strengthening the company’s longstanding collaboration with Carnival Corp. The two vessels are scheduled for delivery in early 2030 and late 2031.

Each ship will feature approximately 2,100 passenger cabins and will be equipped with advanced multi-fuel engines capable of operating on LNG, biodiesel and next-generation sustainable fuels.

The value of the agreement is considered ’very important’ by Fincantieri - a designation typically reserved for contracts exceeding €2.0Bn (US$2.2Bn). To date, 75 cruise ships have been delivered to Carnival Corp across its portfolio of brands by Fincantieri.
