GTT has inked a technical services agreement with Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) and CoolCo for a fleet of more than 30 gas carriers, while a pair of JOVO’s LNGCs are taking voyage management, cargo and machinery optimisation, CII and EU MRV monitoring tools
GTT will support EPS and CoolCo with the maintenance and operation of a global fleet of 33 vessels, including 24 LNG carriers operated by CoolCo, six Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs) and three LNG-fuelled container ships operated by EPS, all equipped with GTT’s Mark III or NO96 membrane containment systems.
The service agreement includes GTT’s on-site technical assistance for inspection, maintenance, repairs, operations and engineering services. In addition, GTT will grant EPS and CoolCo access to the an emergency hotline that connects them to GTT’s experts 24/7 to respond to operational issues.
In a separate contract, GTT subsidiary Ascenz Marorka has been awarded contracts by Chinese energy services provider JOVO to equip two of its LNG carriers with ‘smart shipping’ systems, automatic data collection systems and software for managing and optimising the energy and environmental performance of the ships.
The software has LNG-specific features including LNG cargo monitoring, boil-off gas management and heel optimisation, and both vessels will be equipped with the latest version of weather routeing and services. Crew and shoreside personnel will have access to voyage management, LNG cargo optimisation, machinery optimisation, trim optimisation, fuel monitoring, CII (Carbon Intensity Index) monitoring, EU MRV (European Monitoring, Reporting, Verifying) and IMO DCS (International Maritime Organisation Data Collection System) reporting.
JOVO Group’s Managing Director, LNG International Business Lu Yuan said “The deployment of these innovative and unique solutions and services on board our LNG carriers will enable us to better operate our vessels, unload larger volumes of LNG cargoes, improve general safety, assist crews in their demanding tasks and achieve our environmental goals.”
JOVO owns and operates the Dongguan LNG terminal located in Guangdong, South China. The group has a specific focus on gas, and its LNG business includes LNG cargo portfolio and optimisation, receiving terminals and LNG fleet operations, among other things.
