A major operator of cruise ships is investing in digitalisation to support its long-term sustainability and safety goals
Carnival Cruise Line is again investing in digitalisation technology to raise efficiency, reduce workloads and elevate safety.
The Carnival Corp subsidiary has replaced manual, paper-based routines with fully digital workflows, enabling its seafarers and shore teams to work together with greater transparency, safety and speed. It is now looking at other applications for digitalisation to further strengthen its operations.
“Compliance and safety are at the core of everything we do,” said Carnival Cruise Line vice president for compliance Benton Lobo. “The digital platform helps our crews operate with greater consistency, accuracy and accountability, which ultimately benefits both our guests and our long-term sustainability goals.”
Carnival Cruise Line uses Gothenburg, Sweden-headquartered Maranics’ platform for fully digital workflows. It extended this contract at the beginning of September 2025.
“Digitalisation can transform efficiency, elevate safety and support sustainable operations across one of the world’s most dynamic fleets,” said Maranics chief commercial officer Thomas Örnevik.
Carnival Cruise Line operates a fleet of 29 ships from ports in the US, Australia and Europe, serving around 6M passengers annually.
