A subsidiary of Edison Chouest Offshore has signed an agreement to integrate sea state information into its dynamic positioning and vessel control systems
Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) subsidiary Marine Technologies (MT) will integrate marine sensing incorporating wave, current and oil spill detection technologies into its bridge systems.
MT signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Miros in November 2025 to collaborate on integrating these data streams into its vessels’ bridge technology. This MoU may become a strategic partnership and add applications focused on vessel performance and offshore wind walk-to-work operations.
The current scope covered by the MoU includes pre-installation of Miros’ Wavex application for sea state monitoring with MT’s DP systems for activation on demand, and distributing Miros’ WaveSystem and oil-spill detection through MT’s channels.
“This integrates real-time sea-state data with DP and performance systems,” said Marine Technologies chief executive Jan Mikalsen.
ECO operates a fleet of around 300 vessels, mainly in the US Gulf and Brazil, many with MT integrated bridge and DP systems.
