Brian Allen, the former chief executive of UK-based Beam, has joined Nauticus Robotics as chief revenue officer
Mr Allen founded and served as chief executive of Beam. Under his leadership, Beam scaled from a startup to approximately 230 employees across the UK, US, and Europe. The company built a US$840M sales pipeline, bringing in US$90M of sales and order book in its final 12 months.
Beam, formed in 2024 through the merger of Rovco and Vaarst, gained recognition for its autonomous subsea systems and AI-powered technologies before ceasing operations in May 2025, following a failed equity funding round. Prior to founding Beam, Mr Allen held operational robotics roles at DeepOcean, Fugro, Subsea 7 and Odyssey Marine Exploration.
In his role as chief revenue officer, Mr Allen will be responsible for driving technology licencing and services revenue at Nauticus Robotics, expanding the company’s EMEA commercial footprint, building scalable marketing and sales infrastructure to support the company’s next phase of growth. He will be based in the UK with regular travel to the company’s Houston headquarters.
Mr Allen said, “Nauticus has developed one of the most advanced autonomy platforms available today for hovering AUVs and existing ROVs. The Nauticus ToolKITT platform, combined with the company’s vision-based manipulation and through-water acoustic command and control, creates a highly differentiated offering. My job is to build the commercial engine that this technology deserves, driving global ToolKITT technology sales, technology-driven services, and hardware sales across EMEA and beyond.
“With my previous team I spent the last decade building Beam from one to 230 people, selling autonomous inspection/survey tech and tech-enabled services into the same markets. Before that I spent 10 years at sea either diving underwater or piloting ROVs and working in the environments where this technology operates.”
