AIDA Cruises takes delivery of second newbuild powered by LNG
AIDA Cruises has taken delivery of its newest cruise ship AIDAcosma in Bremerhaven from the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. It is the company’s second newbuilding powered by LNG.
AIDA Cruises president Felix Eichhorn said at the ceremony, "Today marks an important milestone on our journey to emissions-neutral cruising. With AIDAcosma and sister ship AIDAnova, two of the most innovative cruise ships in the world belong to our fleet in terms of sustainable cruising as well as the very special guest experience and product diversity."
New areas on board AIDAcosma include the Ocean Deck, which extends over four decks and offers an all-round view of the sea. There is an extensive sunbathing area and a large infinity pool at the stern of the ship.
Activities on board include a bouldering wall, racer, rope towers and balance course. The new Fun Park with its large indoor playground offers plenty of variety.
In addition, AIDAcosma includes features popular with AIDAnova, such as the Beach Club, the Theatrium with its 360° stage, the TV studio and the Body & Soul Organic Spa. There are 17 restaurants and 23 bars and cafés on board.
From the end of February, Hamburg will be the first home port for AIDAcosma.
