Normand Vision, an advanced construction support vessel (CSV) ordered by Ocean Installer and Solstad Offshore, has been delivered by Vard. The vessel, which is owned by Solstad Offshore, will operate on a long-term charter with Ocean Installer for a minimum of eight years.
The ship is the third in Ocean Installer’s fleet of subsea vessels, following Normand Mermaid and Normand Clipper, both chartered from Solstad Offshore.
The vessel was due to start work immediately on several projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, including work for Statoil and Norske Shell. It is equipped for subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (Surf) projects, is 156.7m long with a breadth of 27m and has a cargo deck area of 2,100m2.
Normand Vision is equipped with a 150 tonne vertical lay system (VLS) and a 3,000t below-deck carousel, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in hangars launched through moonpools and two active-heave compensated offshore cranes (400 tonnes and 100 tonnes) that can both operate down to depths of 3,000m.
