A Taiwan-headquartered owner of bulk carriers is installing programs to manage ship safety, compliance and operations
Taiwan-based subsidiary of the Far Eastern Group, U-Ming Marine Transport Corp, is installing UniSea software on its fleet of bulk carriers to improve efficiency and lower operating costs.
“Software will help drive our ambitious digitalisation path, afloat and ashore,” said U-Ming Marine president CK Ong. “It is key part of achieving real transformational engagement and operational excellence.”
UniSea covers virtually every aspect of maritime operations from safety management and risk assessment to crew management and compliance documentation. The integrated nature of these modules will provide U-Ming with improved workflows and enhanced data visibility across its operations, said UniSea chief executive Kurt Roar Vilhelmsen.
“U-Ming’s approach to digital transformation aligns with our vision of providing integrated solutions that deliver real value to maritime operators,” said Mr Vilhelmsen. “This partnership represents the kind of forward-thinking that evolves our industry.”
