Leaders in vessel ownership, technology innovators and environmental leaders were winners of a series of awards at the Offshore Support Journal Conference, Exhibition and Awards 2023
During a gala dinner at the end of the first day of the conference, 8 February 2023, delegates applauded leaders in vessel ownership, technology adoption, safety, environment, renewables and technical operations.
Solstad Offshore chief executive Lars Peder Solstad was presented with the OSJ Industry Leader Award 2023 by sponsor Uptime International for leading this Norwegian OSV owner through a long period of tough market conditions into a new era of growth.
ADNOC Logistics & Services won the OSJ Shipowner of the Year Award 2023, sponsored by V.Ships Offshore, for its critical role in enabling the UAE’s oil and gas sector to raise production while reducing emissions.
The OSJ Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by DNV, was awarded to Eidesvik Offshore’s retired president and chief executive Jan Fredrik Meling to a standing ovation.
OSJ’s Offshore Energy Vessel Vessel of the Year Award 2023 was presented to Windcat Workboats for its hydrogen-powered Hydrocat 48, which provides zero-emissions support for the offshore renewables industry in Belgium.
Solstad Offshore was also the winner of the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Award 2023, sponsored by Caterpillar.
Windcat Offshore was also the winner of the Offshore Renewables Award 2023 for its Elevation series of hydrogen-powered construction support and operations vessels (CSOVs) working in the Belgian offshore renewables sector.
OSJ’s Innovation of the Year Award 2023, sponsored by Corvus Energy, was awarded to Seaonics for its all-electric 3D motion-compensated crane.
The winner of the Environmental Award 2023 was Opsealog in a tough race with three other shortlisted nominees: Seacor Marine, CSM Energy and Thome Ship Management.
OSJ’s Safety Award 2023, sponsored by Vroon Offshore Services, was won by Wärtsilä for its wind turbine guard zone system.
DNV was also a shortlisted nominee for its joint industry project covering bottom impact and partially submerged conditions, which has resulted in a new framework for optimising the installation process of offshore wind turbines.
DNV was the winner of the Dynamic Positioning Award 2023, sponsored by Damen, for its data driven verification (DDV) of dynamic positioning systems.
