Oman LNG signed binding term-sheet agreements with Thai firm PTT Global LNG Co and France’s TotalEnergies to supply a combined 1.6M tonnes per annum (mta) of LNG
PTT Global LNG will receive volumes of 0.8 mta of LNG based on a nine-year contract starting from 2026, with TotalEnergies receiving the same quantity for a 10-year deal that begins 2025.
The Sultanate is making moves to leverage its access to global markets. Oman LNG chief executive Hamad Mohammed Al Nu’amani said of the deal, “Such a step complements our mission to add value to the local economy through increasing capacity and strengthening collaborations with international firms.”
In the last few weeks, Oman LNG has signed supply deals with JERA and inked deals related to LNG and green hydrogen with Shell. And Oman’s Asyad Group has contracted South Korean yard Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries to build and deliver two new LNG carriers which will be ready in 2026.
The agreements were signed by Mr Al Nu’amani, PTT managing director Ratchada Lertwanichwatana and TotalEnergies senior vice president Thomas Maurisse.
