MEPC’s adoption of the Strategy to Address Marine Plastic Litter from Ships could see potable water systems reduce shipboard reliance on plastic bottles
Reducing the use of plastic bottles for drinking water in line with IMO’s Strategy to Address Marine Plastic Litter from Ships could involve using drinking water systems on board, such as the P Ship Systems potable water solutions.
P Ship Systems provides a range of systems with capacities to meet the myriad onboard requirements and provide support to shipowners in the installation and operation of the system.
P Ship Systems’ Giorgos Kyriazis said, “We are solely focused on meeting the maritime industry’s needs for quality drinking water for its crew. Our systems are designed to meet the demands of shipping for end-to-end solutions for reliable sources of potable water.”
He added, “We are committed to working with shipowners to identify which systems will best meet their requirements, supporting the installation and operation of these systems, as well as servicing the equipment onboard the vessels. This saves our customers time and money, while ensuring their crews are provided with high quality water.”
P Ship Systems’ suite of water purifying systems have been deemed “Best Practice for Drinking Water” by two global oil major companies, along with numerous shipowners with over 1,500 systems already in circulation.
Not only do the systems support crew welfare, but the reduction of plastic bottle used helps the environment.
These two elements provide distinct ESG advantages to shipowners interested in mariner welfare and sustainability.
