Saudi Aramco is adding new pipelines to three oil and gas fields in the Middle East Gulf
Saipem has won two contracts in Saudi Arabia, valued at around US$600M, to install pipelines and upgrade topsides on three fields in the Middle East Gulf.
Saudi Aramco contracted the Italy-headquartered offshore engineering group to renovate topside structures on platforms and install 34 km of pipelines at the Berri and Abu Safah oil fields under its Contract Release Purchase Orders (CRPO) programme. Over 34 months, under CRPO 162, Saipem will complete engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of 20-inch and 30-inch diameter pipes on these fields.
In a second contract, CRPO 165, Saipem will undertake subsea interventions at the Marjan field and EPC of about 300 m of onshore pipeline and associated tie-ins over 12 months.
Saipem said it will use its construction vessels already deployed in the Middle East for the offshore installation work, while the pipe will be fabricated by Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
