A German ship managing and owning group has acquired a software company in India to extend its software capabilities and scale to provide maritime digitalisation services
Schulte Group’s MariApps Marine Solutions has acquired 100% ownership of Hyderabad, India-headquartered software company, EffiaSoft Private, to enhance its digital maritime ecosystem.
This transaction includes EffiaSoft’s portfolio of enterprise software, which the German shipping group intends to integrate with MariApps’ existing digitalisation tools.
MariApps is reinforcing its position as a provider of end-to-end digital transformation using its smartPAL suite for the maritime and offshore industries through this arrangement.
“This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in MariApps’ commitment to expanding its digital ecosystem and enhancing its technological capabilities,” said Schulte.
“This acquisition serves as a force multiplier for MariApps, enabling an increase in the scale of development of next-generation maritime tools and incorporation of sophisticated supply chain functionalities.”
Before this acquisition, MariApps and EffiaSoft had worked closely on several areas, including developing MariApps’ cruisePAL solutions for the passenger shipping sector.
"The acquisition of EffiaSoft is a testament to our vision of building a comprehensive digital maritime ecosystem,” said MariApps chief executive Sankar Ragavan.
MariApps will integrate EffiaSoft’s engineering team and Hyderabad operations into its own to develop more robust, high-performance digital solutions.
Through the Schulte group, MariApps’ cloud-hosted and web-based software is used on more than 5,100 vessels worldwide operated by over 125 companies.
Digital solutions will be presented at Riviera’s April 2026 International Chemical and Product Tanker Conference:
