Tanker Shipping & Trade, Europe
Turning adversity into opportunity
To complement the launch of our hugely successful webinar week series, Riviera’s 2020 conference programme has moved online, allowing our global communities to continue to connect, network and gather knowledge whilst remaining safe until our live conference programme returns. Networking is a key element of our virtual conferences with ample opportunity to arrange your meetings, keep on top of your daily routine, and still have some personal time.
This three-day virtual conference will bring professionals from across the global Tanker industry together to discuss the business, operational and technical issues impacting the crude, product and chemical tanker trades.
November’s Tanker Shipping & Trade, Europe is a must-attend for tanker professionals globally.
The official supporting media is Tanker Shipping & Trade.
The tanker industry saw new complexity and challenge introduced in 2020.
For seafarers COVID-19 turned the accommodation block into the prison block with crew marooned onboard in some instances for a year or more. The ramifications in terms of physical and mental safety, training and manning are obvious if not fully understood – and are only likely to completely reveal themselves in time to come.
The disarray brought by the virus has not stopped there with operators keen to keep vessels moving having to contend with constant rule changes and often inflexible bureaucracy.
The CO2 debate has gathered momentum. Pressure to up the pace to meet industry’s bold decarbonisation targets is keenly felt. Environmental, societal and governmental issues have never been higher on the boardroom agenda. However, anyone who has listed to recent earning calls will know the multiple challenges owners and operator face – markets, financing, regulatory, operational, geo-political and technical – with many having to defer or delay investment.
This conference will critically assess all these developments and their related challenges and offer insight on where we are heading.
It will reflect positively on the technological progress made by an industry that has had to completely embrace the virtual world overnight.
It will consider the business opportunities that the greenhouse gas debate brings and detail new trading, technological and financing opportunities.
A positive by-product of 2020 has been the way it has brought the industry together to tackle common challenges and there has been some movement from governments and regulators in this direction too. The industry has overcome sizeable and seismic challenges in the recent past and will do so again.
This event – now in its 12th year – will bring the industry together in the same constructive spirit.
Attend November’s Tanker Shipping & Trade, Europe and you will be updated on the latest rules and guidelines, threats, and technologies.
You will also meet and network with the professionals shaping and implementing regulation, the decision makers tasked with balancing operational requirement, compliance and cost, as well as those creating technologies, training and software to safeguard and drive forward our industry.
