ABS names new group chief executive

ABS has appointed David Wechsler group chief executive as the US ship classification society seeks strategic growth through corporate transactions.

Mr Wechsler has had a 35-year career in management consulting and leadership across the manufacturing, consumer products, sustainable energy, automotive, technology and services industries. He was a founding partner of the firm that became Hitachi Consulting.

“David brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record that aligns well with the vision of ABS group,” said ABS chairman and current chief executive Christopher Wiernicki.

“A seasoned leader, he has been involved in more than 12 acquisitions throughout his career - an invaluable asset as we look to grow. His understanding of mergers and strategic growth, coupled with a commitment to innovation, positions ABS for exciting opportunities on the horizon.”
