One of the largest oil production and export companies in the Middle East is deploying AI-powered analytics to streamline marine services for its tanker terminals
Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) Logistics and Services (L&S) is investing in digital technology to increase efficiency and vessel management at its petroleum ports in the Middle East.
The company is deploying software powered by artificial intelligence (AI) from a Singapore-headquartered developer across its petroleum ports to reduce vessel turnarounds, time for sourcing marine and terminal services and lower operational expenditure.
ADNOC L&S has said that adopting this AI-powered programme will cut service-sourcing time for vessels from three hours to 45 seconds and save 3,000 hours annually.
It should also raise jetty utilisation by 20%, a 10% improvement in vessel management and deliver US$950,000 in operational savings by 2028.
ADNOC L&S will deploy Innovez One’s AI-powered smart port solution to streamline marine and terminal resources allocation at its tanker terminals in including Das, Zirku, Mubaraz, Ruwais and Jebel Dhana in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This enables real-time tracking of marine activities and digital scheduling of services and operational workflows.
“Deployment of the smart-port solution across our petroleum ports in the UAE underscores our commitment to harnessing AI, as we continue to invest in innovation to optimise our operations and drive further value for our business and customers,” said ADNOC L&S chief executive Abdulkareem Al Masabi.
Rollout of AI technologies will support ADNOC L&S’s strategies for long-term sustainability, growth and efficiency in the energy logistics sector.
ADNOC L&S marine terminal fleet covers a range of specialist functions with fleets of terminal and azimuth stern drive tugs, diving support and maintenance vessels, mooring and line boats, pilot and crew boats. Every vessel that arrives at and departs from ADNOC’s petroleum ports is assisted by at least one of its tugboats.
