ASRY partners with AMPTC to provide docking and maintenance services for its regional tanker fleet
The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Co (ASRY), based in Bahrain, has formalised an agreement with the Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Co (AMPTC) to undertake docking and maintenance services for AMPTC’s tankers operating in the region.
The agreement was signed at a meeting attended by chairman of AMPTC Adel Aljasem, ASRY chief executive Dr Ahmed AlAbri, and AMPTC director general Hocine Boudia, along with senior officials from both organisations.
“This partnership exemplifies how Arab companies can work together under a shared vision of growth and operational excellence,” said Mr Aljasem, who highlighted ASRY’s extensive facilities and technical expertise.
Dr AlAbri echoed these sentiments, “This agreement strengthens our long-standing partnership, allowing us to deliver services that meet AMPTC’s fleet needs effectively,” he said.
ASRY, a leading maritime repair and fabrication facility in the Middle East Gulf, was established in 1977. It boasts a 500,000-dwt drydock, two floating docks, extensive repair berths and advanced workshops. Its diverse capabilities include ship and rig repair, conversion and industrial fabrication.
Mr Boudia commended ASRY’s expertise, describing described the collaboration as a "model of successful co-operation between Arab enterprises."
This development aligns with ASRY’s broader efforts to expand its reach, following recent agreements with other major maritime operators in the region, further solidifying its position as a key player in the Gulf’s maritime sector.
