Long-time marine lubricant supplier adds first-owned lubricant supply tanker to fleet in Singapore
A long-time marine lubricant supplier in the port of Singapore, Gulf Marine Pte added its first owned lubricant supply barge, following a naming ceremony at Marine Keppel Bay on 15 January.
The 1,509-dwt tanker was named Reliable I by OSM Thome chief operating officer Asia, Lisa Holum, who served as godmother, breaking the traditional bottle of champagne during the event, which was attended by 100 senior shipping executives, shipowners and maritime professionals, including representatives from Riviera.
Built in China to Bureau Veritas class, Reliable I has an overall length of 56 m, beam of 12 m, depth of 5 m, draught of 3 m and cargo capacity of 1,058,000 litres. The tanker’s propulsion power is supplied by two Mitsubishi 4T six-cylinder, high-speed engines, rated at 1,518 kW each, equipped with selective catalytic reduction.
“Reliable I is a major step forward: our first owned, purpose-built barge,” said Gulf Marine chief executive, Frank Olsen. “It enables faster, cleaner and more consistent deliveries, and it underlines the promise we make to every customer – on-time, in-full, wherever your vessels operate.”
Reliable I joins six other lubricant supply barges chartered by Gulf Marine in Singapore.
