Crane manufacturer Liebherr has concluded an agreement for the delivery of a BOS 45000 offshore crane to Eunsung O&C Co Ltd in South Korea
The crane will have a boom with a maximum length of 117 m and is designed to install and maintain offshore wind turbines.
Liebherr said the crane will be installed on the jack-up barge Vega, which is scheduled to enter service in 2029. It offers a lifting capacity of up to 1,200 tonnes at a maximum reach of 22 m.
For the Vega project, Liebherr South Korea will support installation, commissioning and testing and will be responsible for ongoing service for the crane in South Korea.
Construction of the crane for Vega will start later in 2026 and be completed in 2028. Installation and integration on Vega are due to be completed by mid-2029, with commissioning and entry into service in 2029.
Liebherr and Eunsung have an established relationship. Most recently, the crane manufacturer extended the boom on an Eunsung O&C BOS 14000 by 24 m to a total length of 84 m, a modification that was delivered in five weeks, ahead of schedule, equipping the crane for offshore operations.
