Fourth 24,000-TEU mega box ship joins OOCL’s fleet

Built at China’s Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd shipyard, OOCL Felixstowe is the fourth in a series of 12 24,000-TEU vessels that will join the OOCL fleet. 

OOCL Felixstowe will serve the Asia-Europe LL3 service with its three sister vessels, OOCL Turkiye, OOCL Spain and OOCL Piraeus – all of which joined the company fleet earlier this year. 

OOCL chief executive Yang Zhijian said, “We ordered this series of ultra large container vessels not only to provide better services to our customers, but also to enhance our cost competitiveness and to seize the initiative for future development. OOCL Felixstowe’s port rotation is Shanghai / Xiamen / Nansha / Hong Kong / Yantian / Cai Mep / Singapore / Piraeus / Hamburg / Rotterdam / Zeebrugge / Valencia / Piraeus / Abu Dhabi / Singapore / Shanghai.
