Major tanker operators sign up for Docmap

 Knutsen OAS Shipping has chosen Docmap Marine Suite as its quality assurance (QA) and document handling solution. Lars Hanøy, QA manager for the tanker operator, says that by implementing Docmap Marine Suite in both office and on board vessels it will be better able to support the continuous process improving safety across all aspects of ship operation. Located at Haugesund on Norway’s west coast, Knutsen OAS Shipping has a fleet of 39 ships and 11 newbuildings or order or under construction.

Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG) has also chosen the DocMap solution. The software will initially be rolled out on 100 vessels as well as at office locations worldwide. OSG Ship Management’s vice president, Keith Moorhouse, says that Marine Suite will enhance its focus on quality management systems.

“This agreement confirms our strategic decision to focus solely on developing products for enhancing quality management. For us, it also opens the door to the US market,” says Svein Syversen, managing director at Docmap.

OSG owns and operates a fleet of more than 120 vessels that transport crude oil, refined petroleum products and liquid gas worldwide. MEC
