Van Aalst Group in the Netherlands has formed a new company in Kristiansand, Norway to provide preventive and predictive maintenance services, combined with workshop services for clients in the offshore oil and gas, marine and renewables industries
Nortek Services has already been awarded its first contract, working on a hydraulic gangway for an undisclosed Norwegian customer.
Van Aalst group and Safeway chief executive Wijnand van Aalst said the reason for forming Nortek was the rapid growth currently taking place at a number of Van Aalst companies.
Safeway has achieved success with its motion-compensated gangways and Techano in Norway has established a leading position in the development and supply of load handling and lifting equipment in the aquaculture industry.
Nortek’s range of services draws together the technical knowledge, expertise and engineering, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, maintenance and training know-how in the Van Aalst Group, which specialises in selling and renting motion-compensated gangways, pneumatic load and discharge systems and load handling and lifting equipment.
Headed by newly appointed managing director and co-founder Kjetil Vatne, Nortek Services was inaugurated on 1 June 2020.
In June, Riviera held a series of webinars on offshore wind. These are available to view in our webinar library
