Voyager Worldwide, a provider of vessel management software, said it has responded to a cyber incident that impacted operations of its Voyager Fleet Insight (VFI) platform
The company launched an investigation and engaged cyber-security firm Mandiant to assist Voyager Worldwide’s internal team in responding to the event.
On 2 December, the company took all Voyager systems offline. The systems remained offline while the company underook an investigation, according to a post on the company’s website.
At the time, Voyager Worldwide said, “We recognise the critical nature of these services to your shipping operations and have focused all available resources on returning to normal operations as quickly and securely as possible. In the meantime, if you need to approve an order, please contact our customer services team at customerservices@voyagerww.com.”
In the post, the company said it would restore services and have Voyager Fleet Insight operational before the end of the week, but said “as this is an ongoing investigation, and our priority is keeping the impact of the incident contained, the timeframe for recovery could shift.”
A company spokesperson told Riviera Maritime Media that “Voyager services were fully restored on Friday 10 December.”
