World's largest multi-purpose ro-ro/train ferry receives BWTS retrofit

Stena Line’s Skåne is the world’s largest multi-purpose ro-ro/train ferry, and posed unique challenges for retrofitting.

The objective was to install two Alfa Laval PureBallast BWTS, each containing a 500-m³ capacity, in the ship’s ballast water rooms.

Specialists from Team Electric are responsible for a wide range of tasks, including basic and detail design, project management, the supply of installation materials, 3D scanning and design, mechanical work for new frames and foundations, the installation of glass-reinforced epoxy piping, and precommissioning.

With more than 1,000 successful marine projects complete, Team Electric believes it has established itself as a lead provider in the passenger vessel segment.
