The Turkish tug builder has completed a harbour tug for its fleet operating in Turkish ports
Med Marine is adding a firefighting harbour tug to its growing fleet after its construction as newbuild ER144 at its Eregli Shipyard in northern Turkey.
The Turkish owner and builder is enhancing its marine services through the addition of a MED-A2360 series tugboat, which was launched 5 December at the shipyard on the Black Sea coast.
This 23-m vessel was built to Robert Allan Ltd’s RAmparts 2300-W design with 65 tonnes of bollard pull for ship handling, towing, pushing and mooring.
It has a beam of 11 m, a hull depth of around 5 m, a draught of 6 m, a top speed of 12 knots, accommodation for seven crew and a FiFi1 class firefighting system.
Med Marine said this tug has an azimuth stern drive system with two diesel engines connected to Z-drive units with fixed pitch propellers in nozzles. It has winches on the fore and aft decks and a towing hook aft for multiple maritime applications.
This tug will be commissioned and enter the fleet at the beginning of 2025.
