Greek shipowner Pericles Panagopulos has sold controlling stakes of Athens-based Attica Group for around e285 million ($404 million) to Marfin Investment Group. This move gives Marfin control of Superfast Ferries, as well as the Blue Star Ferries fleet, part-owned by Attica.
The wholly-owned Marfin Investment Group’s affiliate Marfin Shipping acquired the 49.9 per cent of Attica at a price of e5.50/share, representing the Panagopulos family’s entire shareholding in the company, together with the shares of a few associates. FT
