Maran Tankers’ business is in the cloud

Maran Tankers Management, the oil tanker shipping unit of the Angelicoussis Shipping Group, says a new cloud-based platform will enhance fleet operations.

The company has selected Q88’s cloud-based voyage management system, Q88VMS, to manage its chartering and commercial operations. The company manages a fleet of over 40 vessels including with more vessels scheduled to be delivered in the coming months.

  “Q88VMS’ integrated approach to managing the voyage chain was a huge factor for our company, which encourages team work, open dialogue and sharing of information,” Maran Tankers Management operations director Georgios Asteros told Tanker Shipping & Trade. “Having chartering, operations and post fixture in various offices across the globe, we needed a system that not only enables quick and accurate voyage calculations, fixtures, operations and reporting but also works across devices and locations.”

Q88VMS’ user base has more than doubled over the past 9 months, with the majority of growth concentrated in Europe. 

Stamford headquartered Q88 has also just launched a new Position List module on Q88.com. The module features accurate distances provided by AtoBviaC, Satellite AIS provided by VesselTracker.com, Detailed Search and Saved Search functionality, an Intake Calculator, and sharing capabilities with other tanker brokers belonging to the community.
