Veson Nautical has introduced a standalone platform for its fleet management and voyage tracking software Veslink that can be implemented seamlessly with its own IMOS enterprise software. Veslink enables shipping companies to collect, analyse, and share maritime data, as well as monitor the performance of a fleet of ships and their voyages.
Veslink helps shipping companies manage voyage operations and reporting more efficiently, he added. This is achieved by enabling data collection from ship to shore through a forms feature, and facilitating the sharing of data with trusted partners through Veslink’s network capabilities. It also provides distances and live data useful for voyage planning, such as weather or bunker prices through its maps function. The data is aggregated to demonstrate the combined performance of all vessels in a fleet through the performance reporting and analytics functions.
Previously, Veslink was only able to work alongside the IMOS service, said Veson product manager Agya Garg. “But we have seen growing demand for Veslink from prospective clients who use a variety of other solutions,” he continued. “So we are now delighted to provide the benefits of Veslink to any maritime shipping company.”
More than 3,000 vessels are submitting Veslink forms each month. Some of these are operated by shipowner Leif Höegh (UK) Limited, which uses the service to analyse the growing volume of data the fleet of gas carriers generates. “With a growing fleet we needed a good cost-effective solution which could grow with our organisation,” said Leif Höegh manager of LNG operations as well as health, safety and the environment, Nicholas Green.
He added: “Utilising Veslink has given us a solid platform to collect and store the data from the reports, and also share the information seamlessly both inside and outside our organisation. Reports can be created so that they are unique and fulfil our requirements and that of our charterers. With the ability to create forms ourselves, the system can continue to evolve as our requirements change, which saves us time and, as a result, money.”
