Owners, operators, and vessel managers using Klüber Lubrication’s premium products will have access to Wilhelmsen’s expertise, customer service and global distribution network through a new partnership between the companies
Beginning 1 August, Wilhelmsen took over sales, logistics and consulting for Klüber Lubrication’s maritime portfolio for its seagoing vessels, initially within Europe and southeast Asia, and then extending to the rest of the world from October.
By combining Klüber’s products with Wilhelmsen’s sales and supply service the companies hope to convince customers of the financial and operational value of the partnership according to Wilhelmsen’s executive VP, marine products Kjell Andre Engen.
To improve customer service, to provide the specialist support often required for this product type, Wilhelmsen’s marine products team has undergone in-depth training on Klüber Lubrication’s products and their applications.
Klüber Lubrication’s premium specialty lubricants, include environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) that are designed for use on a variety of vessel and port applications.
The premium products provide protection against wear, and allow longer intervals between maintenance to help increase the lifespan of ship components.
In parallel to the Wilhelmsen partnership, Klüber Lubrication said it will continue to drive innovation by working directly with OEMs. The company’s head of global business team marine, Christoph Köhler, remarked “In 2018, Klüber Lubrication and Wilhelmsen signed a cooperation. Following intensive preparatory work, we are now combining our respective strengths.
"The aim is that operators of ships, shipyards and dry docks can purchase innovative, high-performance specialty lubricants from a single point of contact all over the world. Promptly, reliably and with competent consulting provided.”
