Offshore Support Journal Middle East: the premier industry conference in a booming region

Attendees of December’s OSJ Middle East Conference in Dubai scored the event highly for its commercial value, regional customer engagement and delivery of high value market intelligence.

This year’s event gave a record number of attendees - drawn from national oil companies, ship owners, OEMs, the wider supply chain, yards and financing partners - the opportunity to hear from industry leaders on how they are positioning to take advantage of soaring regional demand. They took away vital insights on both the pace and scale of change underway and how to unlock value. For context, delegates heard how offshore spending in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar could rise over 25% collectively through to 2025 versus 2022. Such spending plans denote multiple new offshore platforms coming online, spurring drilling activity and subsea equipment installations, requiring OSVs.  

A buoyant outlook - and one that is not without blended challenges and opportunities. Here again attendees benefited from an inside track on lagging vessel capacity, advancing project complexity, intensifying local content expectations and accelerating adoption of integrated efficiency tools onshore that are ready for migration offshore.

Networking opportunities were plentiful and included buffet breakfasts, lunches and drinks receptions. Exhibitors gave full marks to the event for brand visibility, sales leads and product feedback.

The OSJ Middle East Conference returns in December 2024 and will also see a maritime and offshore community golf day.
