Optimism abounds at record-breaking OSJ Subsea conference

With increasing demand for offshore oil and gas exploration and infrastructure projects – combined with advances in automation, digitalisation and vessel design – the sector is well-positioned for sustained growth. Attendees left with valuable insights into how they can leverage these opportunities to drive success in their own businesses.  

Held on 3 February 2025, the conference brought together a global audience of subsea vessel owners, designers, shipyards, financiers, brokers, analysts, manufacturers and technology companies to explore the opportunities driving growth and innovation in the subsea vessels market.  

Such a diverse grouping made for lively networking, collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Exhibitors and sponsors also spoke approvingly of the opportunity to connect directly with key decision-makers and showcase solutions shaping the sector.  

The conference programme addressed key topics including innovations in vessel design and fleet future-proofing, decarbonisation strategies and digitalisation trends, the role of AI and smart vessel technologies in advancing operations, and financing opportunities to support continued growth.  

A highlight of the day was a panel discussion featuring leading subsea vessel owners who shared their insights on market trends, operational strategies and their outlook for the year ahead. One panellist summed up the positive sentiment in the room by saying: "The future looks so bright I need sunglasses."
