The Offshore Support Journal Asia Conference delivered valuable insights into upcoming projects and market opportunities, a deeper understanding of regulatory challenges, particularly in Taiwan and Indonesia, and strategies for financing next-generation green vessels. The event also provided ample networking opportunities, with existing partnerships renewed and fresh collaborations forged.
230 industry professionals attended the event, spanning offshore vessel owners, operators, vessel builders, OEMs, charterers, classification, finance, legal, brokerage and wider supply chain.
As more than one delegate remarked, the energy and buzz across the two-day conference was reminiscent of the industry’s peak years and a stark contrast to the challenging period of 2014-2020.
Other presentations explored the record levels of projected offshore EPCI spending, driven by stable oil prices and aggressive OPEC Plus interventions.
Attendees gave high marks for papers and panels on financing and implementing next-generation green vessels, diversification into offshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture and other markets as well as insights into crewing, crew competence, newbuild designs and technologies.
The interactive Q&A sessions, facilitated by the conference’s technology platform, saw over 250 questions submitted. Attendees showed particular interest in technologies capable of improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact while maintaining profitability.
Riviera’s Offshore Support Journal events continue in the Middle East, 11-12 December in Dubai.
