Germany’s largest bulk operator Oldendorff Carriers will deploy Maritime Trainer’s (MTR) extensive online training package on 90 bulk carriers under a multi-year deal
Training content will include experience in Tanker Management and Self Assessment (TMSA) requirements, which will help Oldendorff implement inspection and assessment procedures on its dry cargo ships.
“Working with MTR, we can offer comprehensive training content to our crew,” said Oldendorff Carriers director crewing Armin Zilske. “Moreover, MTR is flexible and can tailor training to our future requirements.”
MTR chief executive Ozgur Alemdag said its training content helps shipping companies meet DryBMS and Rightship’s Inspection Ship Questionnaire (RISQ) needs.
“We are seeing increasing demand for our digital interactive content,” said Capt Alemdag.
“We believe this cutting-edge technology-based package strengthens our position, especially in the dry bulk market, by helping companies meet DryBMS RISQ rigorous requirements.”
MTR provides digital training and assessment for more than 50,000 seafarers on over 600 ships. It aims to reach up to 1,500 ships by the end of 2024.
Its clients include shipmanagement companies and crewing agencies, including Atlantic Lloyd, Armona, Borealis, Trans Ka, Imza Marine, DFDS, Movers, Ditas and Neptune Lines.
“Prime areas for growth include data and vision analytics, artificial intelligence, digital twins, immersive and gamification learning and crew welfare.”
