A series of newbuild search and rescue vessels are being built with waterjets and control systems in Norway for Denmark’s defence ministry
Denmark’s Ministry of Defence’s acquisition and logistics organisation, DALO, has ordered seven search and rescue (SAR) vessels from a Norwegian shipbuilder.
Maritime Partner is building each of these Alusafe 2200 SAR vessels at its facilities in Ålesund, Norway, with waterjets and control systems supplied by Kongsberg Maritime for delivery to DALO from February 2027.
Each vessel will have two Kongsberg Kamewa S50-3/CA waterjets and associated extended jet control systems, engineered for the rapid response and agility required in SAR and other maritime emergency response missions.
Alusafe 2200 SAR is a new design of vessel for emergency response with hull lines and propulsion for fast speeds and a rescue zone on the stern.
