Prosafe will refurbish Safe Concordia, one of its semi-submersible accommodation units in Curaçao in the Caribbean before it starts a major new contract the US deepwater oil production area in the Gulf of Mexico
Prosafe previously said the upgrade and contract compliance works were challenging due to the condition of the vessel, requirements for operation in the US Gulf of Mexico and inflation increasing costs.
In its latest update, the Oslo, Norway-listed group said the contract with the US energy group would now begin 1-15 August and a standby rate of US$28,000 per day was agreed from 1 August until mobilisation.
The combined mobilisation costs and capital expenditure remain in the estimated range previously communicated of US$25-30M.

Petrobras has issued a new tender to hire an accommodation unit for four years to support maintenance and installation work on a project in Brazil, starting Q1 or Q2 2024.
